Type: Residential building – Condominium
Intervention: Renovation and energy requalification with the 110% Superbonus incentive
Location: Enna (EN)
Roof insulation: Isotec Linea by Brianza Plastica – 120 mm thickness
Roof cladding: Double seam tape and shingles in aluminium

The project

The large “Sant’Anna” residential and commercial complex stands prominently at the entrance to Enna, with its six above-ground storeys and a layout composed of volumes intersecting at right angles, which add movement and articulation to the building’s elongated form.
The original barrel-vaulted roof, punctuated by numerous windows, was in need of significant functional improvements and energy-efficiency upgrades, as the old Canadian tile covering had deteriorated over time. Given the lack of insulation in the existing structure and the complex geometry of the roof, the designer opted for the Isotec Linea insulation system by Brianza Plastica, choosing a 120 mm thickness and a reduced pitch of 35 cm.

The intervention

The choice of Isotec Linea, with its special features and flexible sizing options, brought numerous advantages to the execution of this project. The reduced pitch of just 35 cm made it possible to follow the curve of the vaulted roof with ease, while the interlocking perimeter edges—on both the short and long sides—ensured continuous insulation and seamless panel alignment. The excellent workability of the material enabled it to be shaped on site using standard tools, such as saws and angle grinders, allowing for precise adaptation to complex areas, including hips and valleys, as well as variations in slope and shape.

The high insulating power of the Isotec Linea system, combined with a high thickness, ensures excellent thermal performance, effectively responding to the significant day-night temperature fluctuations typical of the local climate. Isotec Linea can be completely dry-installed on any type of continuous structure. In this project, the Isotec Linea panels were mechanically fastened to the load-bearing substrate, allowing work to continue even during the winter months, regardless of low temperatures or adverse weather conditions.

The result

The high insulating performance of Isotec Linea ensured optimal comfort in the attic apartments throughout the year, delivering tangible and effective protection against both the intense summer heat and cold winter temperatures.
Isotec Linea complies with C.A.M. (Minimum Environmental Criteria), a requirement that made it eligible for the 110% Superbonus incentive for energy efficiency upgrades. Following the intervention, the complex achieved a significant improvement in energy performance, upgrading from Energy Class G to Energy Class C.
